Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt

Join us for the longest Easter Egg Hunt in Essex!

  • Easter Bunny
  • Heritage steam and diesel trains
  • Vintage London buses
  • Facepainters

Epping Ongar Railway’s beloved Bertie Bunny will be leading what is probably the longest Easter egg hunt in Essex. Running the length of the railway track, from Ongar through to Coopersale, the distance covered is equivalent to 131,579 eggs placed end to end! You'll need to use our steam and diesel trains to find them all!

Upon arrival, children will receive a sheet with clues, before being asked to find as many numbered eggs as they can, which Bertie has sneakily hidden around the Railway - be sure to keep watch out the windows during your journey. At the end of your visit, return the sheet to one of our shops and receive a special Easter treat.

Stay alert for Bertie the Easter Bunny, who will be out and about the stations and maybe even aboard some of the trains throughout each day! Steam and diesel trains will be in operation, and our vintage London buses will pick you up from right outside Epping Underground or Shenfield stations.

Also at North Weald, children young and old can enjoy having their faces painted by Cre8tive Faces (additional charge applies) between 10.30 and 15.00.
